What can be covered in a meaningful fashion in podcasts that last just 60 seconds?

Quite a lot, it turns out!

The inspiration behind our ‘Worth a Minute’ podcast was the realisation that a significant amount of content can be communicated memorably and effectively even in just 60 seconds.

A time-limited format of this nature creates its own focus and intensity while also creating exciting opportunities for experimentation and innovation.

Furthermore, it also provides a great opportunity for you to try your hand at creating a podcast episode of your own by taking part in our ‘Worth a Minute’ Podcast Challenge, as explained below.

Are you up for the ‘Worth a Minute’ Podcast Challenge?

Follow these 6 easy steps

  • Listen to our ‘Worth a Minute’ trailers and some ‘Best Evers’ episodes.

  • Identify a ‘Best Ever’ experience, book, film etc that you are keen to share with others and can sum up in 60 seconds!

  • Plan a script that will do it justice and will make an impact on your audience.

  • Record your script, taking care to follow top tips for ensuring that your audio is as clean and clear as possible.

  • Review your recording - check that it’s between 45 seconds and 1 minute 15 seconds in length and do your best to deal with any glitches.

  • Email your file (ideally as a .wav or .mp3 file) to worthaminute@freerangepodcasting.co.uk, or email us at that address to arrange a file transfer.

By submitting your audio file, you are agreeing to it being published, if selected, as part of our ‘Best Evers’ collection. All submissions will be acknowledged.

Please get in touch if you have any queries or encounter any issues in connection with this challenge. We very much hope that you enjoy taking part!
